B.L.U.E. - G.R.E.E.N. Academy (BGA) is a free public charter middle school in Winston-Salem, N.C., currently serving grades 5 & 6.  By adding one grade level each year, BGA will serve grades 5 - 8 by 2021.

We offer single-gender reading and math classes, cultural awareness workshops, and cooperative learning strategies in order to enforce a student-led learning experience.

BGA will provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students, focusing greatly on the relationships built with all school stakeholders. A culture of leadership stresses the importance of people management and entrepreneurship.

B.L.U.E - G.R.E.E.N Academy (BGA) empowers all stakeholders to become agents for change in the school, community and world, through literacy, inquiry, innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship and engagement.

B.L.U.E. - G.R.E.E.N. Academy (BGA) provides an education that nurtures the whole child, emotionally, academically, socially and physically, empowering them to initiate and implement positive change. We embrace same gender classrooms and student-centered learning to enhance the development of active lifelong learners and leaders.

As a result, students will:

Respect themselves and others.

Build relationships and make connections with peers and adults.

Make mistakes, then learn from them through a culture of practice, observation and feedback towards growth.

Be motivated to implement and support positive change in the school, community and world.
